The main problems faced by the rail electric flat car industry are the low R&D and innovation capacity, the large distribution of manufacturers, and the low level of manufacturing technology.
1. The R&D and innovation capabilities are not high: China's most powerful rail flat car manufacturers are widely distributed and cannot form a scale.
2. The distribution range of manufacturers is too large
Because many manufacturers have not invested much in technological innovation, talent training and other aspects of flatbed cars, and many professional technicians have been employed by large multinational enterprises with high salaries, senior leaders have no more capital and technical investment in flatbed car manufacturers, which makes the flatbed car manufacturers lose the idea of expanding investment.
Various reasons have led to the slow renewal of the rail flat car products in China, which is not much improved compared with the product technology many years ago. For example, the market of many large coal mines and large steel plants has expanded unprecedentedly, but the demand for rail flat cars is basically ordered from foreign companies with advanced technology.
3. Low level of manufacturing technology
China's rail flat car production technology is not high, and the production volume is too small to meet the market demand. According to the statistics of relevant experts, as of December 2008, there were no more than 350 manufacturers registered in China specializing in the manufacture of rail flat cars. The output, qualification rate and production technology of many state-owned enterprises are much worse than those of foreign advanced manufacturers
